He established himself as an illustrator in London
where he lived for nine years from 1983. He now lives
with his family outside Paris, France where his
reputation has grown worldwide. The French
describe him as "un des plus grands illustrateurs
mondiaux". His most famous book cover design is
Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres.
His book covers for Bloomsbury publishers continue
to influence younger generations of illustrators.
